At VITAVIVA, we have a number of different nutrient-rich oils, each with their own health-promoting properties.
OMEGA 3 and 6 - ESSENTIAL FATTY ACIDS
Essential fatty acids, such as omega 3 and 6, are fatty acids.
The long-chain fatty acids EPA (Eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (Docosahexaenoic acid) are found in the brain and eyes and are necessary for the heart to function normally. In research language, they are called unsaturated omega-3 fatty acids.
The body itself is not able to produce the essential fatty acids, omega 3 and 6. As it is an important resource and energy source for us humans, it is just essential that they are supplied to the body.
DHA and EPA contribute to the maintenance of normal blood pressure, to the normal functioning of the heart and to normal levels of triglycerides in the blood. DHA contributes to the maintenance of normal brain function and to the maintenance of normal vision.
ALA (α-linolenic acid) & LA (linolenic acid) essential fatty acids are necessary for normal growth and development of children. LA (linolenic acid) helps maintain normal blood cholesterol levels. ALA is a precursor to EPA and DHA, which are often obtained through vegan sources of omega 3 (nuts and seeds).
THE SOURCE OF OMEGA 3
The main sources of omega 3 are fish or algae. When it comes to fish oil, it is important that there is a focus on purity - ie the level of heavy metals and toxins. We look a lot at the TOTOX value and strive to sell as pure a product as we can get. Each new batch is tested for purity.

PREGNANCY AND OMEGA 3
During pregnancy and breastfeeding, DHA contributes to the normal brain development of the fetus and breast-feeding infant and to the development of eyes and vision in fetuses and breastfeeding infants. Ingestion of DHA up to 12 months of age also contributes to the normal development of infant vision.
