An added bonus to the new formula is, that is now includes iron, which is also recommended during pregnancy.

If you have questions about the new formula, you are very welcome to contact us at viva@vitaviva.com.

    WHAT IS VITAMAMA?

VITAMAMA is a special composition of vitamins, minerals, including iron, probiotics and omega 3 oil tailored for future mothers. VITAMAMA is recommended 3 months before pregnancy, during pregnancy as well as after childbirth throughout the breastfeeding period.

    WHAT IS IN VITAMAMA?

VITAMAMA is a convenience pack of 30 individual bags that are easy to carry on the go - each with a daily dose of:

    • 2 x Prenatal multivitamin
    • 1 x Probi+ (lactic acid bacteria)
    • 1 x Omega 3 oil capsules (EPA/DHA)
    • 1 x Calcium/Magnesium/Zinc
    • 1 x Vitamin D3 1000 iu

    THE MICRONUTRIENTS?

Prenatal multi is a specially developed strong multivitamin - a combination of essential vitamins and minerals, including iron.

Intake of folic acid (B9) before and during pregnancy increases maternal folate status. Low folate status in future mothers is a risk factor in the development of neutral tube defect in the developing fetus. Folate contributes to maternal tissue growth during pregnancy. VITAMAMA gives you 400 mcg Folic Acid per daily dosage.

Calcium / Magnesium: Calcium is one of the key minerals to take during pregnancy. Why? Because along with other vitamins and minerals, your body provides it to your baby to aid the development of vital structures like the skeleton and teeth.

Vitamin D: Like Calcium, Vitamin D is also important during pregnancy. It is necessary for normal growth and development of bones in children and contributes to the normal functioning of the immune system. In VITAMAMA you get 40 µg Vitamin D per daily dosage.

Omega 3 Fish Oil: is also included in VITAMAMA and provides 500 mg Omega 3 including EPA/DHA.

Probi+: VITAMAMA also contains contains a high dosage of the natural and beneficial bacteria found in our intestinal system. Probiotics, also called lactic acid bacteria, support the gut's natural flora.

Iron: VITAMAMA new formula now also contains iron, which is recommended, a total of 5 mg per daydose.

When the first thoughts of pregnancy come to mind, it's a good idea to think about giving the body the right building blocks. Both men and women benefit from balancing the right diet, lifestyle and possibly supplements, which nevertheless may replace the healthy diet.

The National Board of Health recommends that pregnant women take a daily supplement of folic acid (vitamin B9), vitamin D and iron as well as calcium. VITAMAMA's new updated formula now contains all those micronutrients plus more, including probiotics and Omega 3.

Once baby has come to the world, VITAMAMA can continue to be a really good daily multivitamin for the newborn mother, Recommended daily dose 3 months before and during pregnancy:

        •  400 mcg Folic Acid (VITAMAMA 400 µg)

        •  10 mcg Vitamin D (VITAMAMA 40 µg)

        •  500 mg of calcium* (VITAMA 360 mg)*if you do not consume any diary products

Vitamin A is a term for several related substances. Vitamin A is found in animal products and is called Retinol. The precursor to Vitamin A - Beta carotene - is found in a variety of vegetable products and is converted to Vitamin A in the body as needed. Vitamin A has a strong antioxidant effect in the body. Vitamin A is a fat-soluble vitamin. Vitamin A helps maintain normal mucous membranes, normal skin, normal vision and normal functioning of the immune system. Vitamin A plays a role in the process of cell specialization.

B-Vitamins are many different vitamins, all of which are water soluble. They can be excreted from the body with the urine. The B vitamins work together in a complicated biological collaboration. They are part of most of the body's enzyme processes, with some dominating more or less than others. The uptake of B vitamins depends on the stomach acid and digestion. The Vitamin B family consists of the following vitamins: B1 vitamin (thiamine), B2 vitamin (riboflavin), B3 vitamin (niacin), B5 vitamin (pantothenic acid), B6 vitamin (pyridoxine), Biotin (vitamin B-7, vitamin B-8 , Vitamin H), folic acid (folic acid, folate, folacin, vitamin B9), vitamin B12 (several types of cobalamin).

Vitamin B12 contributes to normal energy circulation, normal nervous system function, normal homocysteine metabolism, normal psychological function, normal red blood cell formation, normal immune system function, fatigue reduction and burnout. Vitamin b12 has a role in the process of cell division.

Vitamin B6 contributes to normal energy metabolism, normal cysteine synthesis, normal nervous system function, normal homocysteine metabolism, normal protein and glycogen metabolism, normal psychological function, normal red blood cell formation, normal immune system function, reduction of fatigue and burnout, regulation of hormone activity.

Biotin (B8) is often called the "beauty nutrient" because of the nutrition it provides for skin and hair. This member of the B vitamin complex contributes to hair and skin maintenance, normal energy circulation, nervous system function, normal macronutrient circulation, normal psychological function, normal mucosa and blood coagulation.

Intake of folic acid (B9) as a dietary supplement increases maternal folate levels. Low folate level is a risk factor in the development of neural tube defect in the developing fetus.

Thiamine (B1) contributes to normal energy-generating metabolism, normal nervous system function, normal psychological function, normal heart function.

Vitamin C is probably the most explored vitamin of all time - and the most commonly known. Humans are not able to produce Vitamin C themselves - so it is important to add larger amounts of Vitamin C to the body through diet and supplements. Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant that helps strengthen the immune system. Vitamin C is water soluble.

Vitamin C helps maintain the normal function of the immune system during and after intense physical exercise. Vitamin C contributes to the normal formation of collagen for the normal function of blood vessels, bones, cartilage, gums, skin and teeth. Vitamin C contributes to normal energy-generating metabolism, normal nervous system function, normal psychological function, normal immune system function.

Vitamin C contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress, reduction of fatigue and burnout, regeneration of the reduced form of vitamin E. Vitamin C increases iron uptake.

Vitamin D is available in various forms and so far 37 active substances have been found, each of which is different in its chemical structure. The forms that matter most to humans are D2 (ergocalciferol) and D3 (cholecalciferol), of which D3 is the most active form. Vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin, which means that the body cannot absorb vitamin D in addition to a fat. Vitamin D contributes to normal absorption / use of calcium and phosphorus and normal blood calcium levels. Vitamin D contributes to the maintenance of normal bones, normal muscle function, normal teeth, normal functioning of the immune system. Vitamin D has a role in the process of cell division.

Vitamin D is necessary for normal growth and bone development in children.

Vitamin E consists of the tocopherols (d-alpha, d-gamma, d-beta, and d-delta), all of which work together to fight the free radicals. In natural food sources, vitamin E (d-alpha-tocopherol - found in a mixture of tocopherols) works together to neutralize the free radicals. Vitamin E contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress. Vitamin E is a fat-soluble vitamin.

Vitamin K belongs to the group of fat-soluble vitamins. This means that the vitamin must dissolve in fat during digestion to be absorbed into the body or it will smoke out again directly. Vitamin K is available in three forms. Vitamin K1, which is called phytomenadione. This form is found in green plants and rich sources include: cabbage, broccoli, spinach and avocado. The other form is, vitamin K2, is formed in gut bacteria and it is called menakinone. The third and final form is a vitamin K synthetic, which is not recommended as a supplement. Vitamin K contributes to normal blood coagulation and maintenance of normal bones.

Selenium contributes to normal spermatogenesis, to maintaining normal hair and nails, to the normal functioning of the immune system and to the normal thyroid function, and to protecting cells from oxidative stress.

Magnesium contributes to a reduction of fatigue and burnout. It contributes to electrolyte balance, normal energy-generating metabolism and the normal functioning of the nervous system. It contributes to muscle function, normal protein synthesis and normal psychological function. Magnesium helps maintain normal bones and teeth, and it plays a role in the process of cell division.

Calcium contributes to normal blood coagulation, normal energy-generating metabolism, normal muscle function, normal neurotransmission and to a normal function of digestive enzymes. Calcium has a role in the process of cell division and specialization. Calcium is needed to maintain normal bones and teeth.

Chromium contributes to normal macronutrient metabolism and to maintaining normal blood glucose levels.

Potassium contributes to normal nervous system function, normal muscle function and to maintaining normal blood pressure.

I love to geek out on the composition of the different vitamins and minerals. I'm sure they do something great for my baby and I now that I'm breastfeeding.

I'm not sure if I'm taking in all the b vitamins. Anyway, my urine is very yellow.

Thank you for creating such a nice and feminine packaging that makes me feel like I'm doing something good for myself and gives an experience of being part of something bigger (feminine).

During my pregnancy and while I was breastfeeding, I loved taking VITAMAMA, because it gave me the nutrients I needed so I didn’t lose my vitality. On top of that, the Organic Coconut Oil has provided me with firm and smooth skin.

VITAMAMA are the best vitamins for pregnant women. I took Vitamama during my second pregnancy and experienced more energy and less fatigueness compared to my first pregnancy. I also did not have the same problems with carpal tunnel syndrome the second time, which might be related to the extra calcium/magnesium and the omega 3 oils in Vitamama.
