WHAT IS VITAMIN E?

Vitamin E consists of the tocopherols (d-alpha, d-gamma, d-beta, and d-delta). In natural food sources, vitamin E (d-alpha-tocopherol - found in a mixture of tocopherols) works together. Vitamin E contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress. Vitamin E is a fat-soluble vitamin.

Vitamin E softgels feature 400 IU of vitamin E from naturally occurring mixed tocopherols for effective daily antioxidant support. In natural food sources, vitamin E (d-alpha tocopherol) is found in a mixture of tocopherols that work together to neutralize free radicals.

Vitamin E consists of two main groups: Tocoferols and Tokotrienols, each of which is available in four versions - Alpha, Beta, Gamma and Delta. Thus, there are eight kinds of vitamin E. Natural vitamin E has the prefix D - e.g. D-alpha-tocopherol. Vitamin E is naturally found in cold pressed vegetable oils, whole grains, dark vegetables, avocados, nuts, seeds, eggs, liver and other intestines as well as milk. Products with synthetic vitamin E are characterized by having the prefix DL for example. DL-alpha-tocopherol. In addition, synthetic vitamin E has a lesser effect and all DL forms of vitamin E should be avoided.
