Chaga grows on birch trees in cold environments and is well-known for its many properties. Chaga has a characteristic black/brown knob containing substances such as: β-(1,3)-(1,6)-D-glucans, betulinic acid, and triterpenes. Internationally, Chaga is called the "King of Mushrooms".
