THE STORY BEHIND THE ROOT?

For thousands of years, people have been using the roots and the orange-red berries of the ashwagandha plant in auyrvedic contxt. The popular herb also goes under the name Indian Ginseng and Winter Cherry. The plant mainly grows in India, The Middle East, and parts of Africa.

The name “ashwagandha” is related to the root’s smell, which means “like a horse”. Per definition, the meaning of “Ashwa” is "horse" and “Gandha” is "smell".
