Tell us a little about yourself
We were both born in the last century, in 1934 and 1941.
Norman Ingstrup, a Danish citizen born in the state of New York by Danish parents. After 4 years of service in the US Marine Corps, with subsequent international training, Norman came to Denmark in open US sales branches in Scandinavia. Norman's passion is history and religions philosophy.
I, Anita Kolmos Ingstrup born and raised in Funen, grew up during the war with ration marks. As 25-year-old, I was already a mother of four planned children (boys). I am creative and educated in nursing, andragogy, pedagogue, later author, supplemented with volunteers work, hobbies, dog training, and music.
We have five grown-up children together, a couple of extra in-laws, and we are now also grandfather and grandmother of thirteen grandchildren and soon four great-grandchildren.
What is your everyday routine?
Now in our retirement, our life is “all about the dogs", which means a solid morning meal, followed by a trip to the forest in any kind of weather with the dogs, 4-year-old Eurasia "Cindy", and 10-month-old Schnauzer "Pondus".
Three times weekly strength training in the fitness centre for Norman. I go to training with the dogs and pilates once a week in addition to home training. When there is more energy left, we use it on social events, keeping the house, and garden maintenance, a good book, a glass of red wine, socializing with family and friends etc.
What is your approach to a healthy lifestyle?
An eventful life with natural attrition through work, joys and sorrows, triggered me with muscle pain and left me feeling burned out at the age of 60. However, after getting acquainted with Orthomolecular Medicine plus a targeted (not fanatical), the dietary change gave me the quality of life back, and when Norman saw me blossom, he followed suit.
How do you support each other in the choices you each make in regards to a healthy lifestyle?
We try to put aside personal needs, choices and appointments to support, encourage and help each other. This applies for areas such as diet, exercise and useful knowledge regarding health and wellness and society in general. In short words - we respect each other's choices and understand the importance of daily support
